Is Abortion An Option?

If you were to ask yourself what is one of the most controversial subjects in the world; abortion would be one of the answers. I believe abortion is really controversial in today's society. In my oppinion I believe a woman should have the choice to either keep a baby, give it to adoption, or have an abortion. Many people hope that the woman won't pick the last option, but sometimes she will.

When a woman makes the decision to have an abortion many thoughts come to her mind like ,"Am I doing the right thing," or ,"I can't wait to get this done and over with," or even, "I can't believe I am doing this." I can't stand those kinds of people that stand outside of the clinic to protest and yell at all the women that go there, don't you think they feel bad enough that they are going there already. I mean imagine yourself going to a clinic, you would be feeling a ton of emotions already, mostly guilt or embrassed or even saddened, and then some asshole comes up to you screaming at your face and telling you are a terrible person.

I am one of those people that thinks it's ok for a woman to make that kind of decision. I may not like the action that is being done but I do support people that decide to get an abortion. Of course they could give the baby away to a orphanage, but sometimes that can't be the best option for that certain woman. Or she could even keep the baby, but she may not be able to rise it or the baby could remind her of a terrible person or moment that mother expreinced. That is the main reason why I support people that get abortions, sometimes the mother was possibly raped and got pregnant afterwards, I know I wouldn't want to give birth to a child that reminds me of the person that violated me.

So now you know how I feel about abortion, I think a woman should have a right to make that decision, no matter how good or bad it is. But I want to know how you all feel about it. Do you think it's ok for a woman to make that decision? How do feel about my point of view on it? And finally do you think abortion is an option?

Save The Whales

So my assignment was to find a controversial picture and I believe I found one. Imagine you are walking down a street enjoying a nice day outside and you look up and see this bill board. The bill board is from the animal friendly group "Peta"; the group that cares more about animals than humans.

Peta may have had the intentions of trying to put out a good message but it could really offend a lot of people. This could offend people that eat meat or obese people. The picture shows a fat woman at the beach and written next to her is "Save The Whales"; that kind of already explains it right there.

Of course the message Peta is trying to send is " Lose the blubber, go vegetarian." The message may seem harmless at first and may sound like a good thing but at the same time it's not. I do agree that people should eat more healthy foods but to put up a bill board with that image and with those words it could really hurt some one's feelings or self esteem.

In my opinion this picture is controversial. Picture yourself as a obese person and you see this and ask yourself, "How do I feel about this?" Either it will offend you or you will say screw it I don't care. Like I said in my opinion this picture is controversial and I do believe more than a hand full of people will get offended.

Observing The Marc Rail

When I received this assignment I thought to myself this is going to be a easy project to do, which was go to a place people go every day. I chose to go to the Frederick Marc Rail. As I drove up into the parking lot behind the train station I sat in my car for a bit to observe my surroundings before I'd walk around the area.

When I was sitting in my car I saw numerous people just either sitting by themselves or next to someone they knew. The people that sat by themselves either had a cell phone stuck to the side of their face or a pair of headphones blasting their favorite music. After a couple of minutes I got out of the car to get a better perspective of the area. The first thing that surprised me was seeing a homeless person having a conversation with a couple people. They where actually interacting with each other, which is odd to me because I know so many people that would never attempt to talk to a homeless person without saying, " Get a job" or " Get away from me" which I think is extremely rude.

So after that I sat down at a bench next to a pretty "hefty" man. He seemed like a nice person so I said good morning and he replied back with the same response, but with a fowl odder following it. Of course I didn't say anything because that wouldn't be a good idea. So instead I waited for a couple minutes and then walked around the building to observe some more.

I walked towards the area where the buses pick up people and I heard some pretty interesting conversations. Two people were talking about how they hate their jobs and certain people they work with. Another couple was talking about how the buses were late and one of them said she needed to go to the hair salon to "Get my hurr did"; that is an actual quote. So then I heard some music which caught my attention. The music was coming from someone's phone and the person next to them said, "Why don't you pick that up?" The person with the phone said, "Cuz this is my song."

After all of that I felt like my observation was complete, but it wasn't. The buses finally came and a group of people stood up for joy. They all walked fast towards the bus to get first in line; which reminded me of elementary school when school was almost over and everyone ran to be first in line to get out first. So everyone got on the bus but then had to wait 10 minutes on the bus before they could leave. So I am guessing that the one girl didn't get her hurr did.

So I walked to my car, feeling the cool breeze against my face; which was a relief because it has been a hot summer. I got in my car and thought about waht the Marc Rail was. The M.R. is not just a building with tracks next to it... ok it is but still. It's a place where people come for transportation, but it is also a place where people meet friends and family. It's a place where friends hang out and rant about their problems and just chat with each other. It's a place to relax before you go to work. It's a place to learn about others and their cultures or rutines for every day and finally it's a perfect place to observe a scene.

Instruments

There are tens of thousands of guitar players in the US, and they include players of all skill levels who play all kinds of music. I am one of the tens of thousands of the guitar players in America. I believe that it's important for a person to learn how to play a musical instrument whether it's the guitar, piano, saxophone, drums, or even the triangle. I believe this because it's a great learning experience, it's an amazing stress reliever, and it's just a fun thing to do.

Playing an instrument is one the best things someone could ever learn how to do other than learning a second language. At first the process on how to play may be a bit hard but if you practice and you are dedicated to it then you will have no problem learning. there is not just one type of genre you could play on a guitar or any other instrument; there are hundreds of different genres. Plus you don't only learn how to play the instrument; you learn how to express yourself through the music you play. As learn how to play the music you also learn about other cultures like: Who invented the genre? When and where it was played? Was it played at festivals? You can learn a lot from music.

In my opinion playing an instrument is a big stress reliever; trust me i know this for a fact. There have been days when I have just wanted to go insane and punch someone in the face but instead I sat down with my guitar and played some music. When someone listens to music it calms them down, but when someone is playing the music themselves it makes the individual feel a million times better. You could play something happy, sad, mellow, brutal, or whatever makes you calm.

Overall playing an instrument is just fun to do. You could have days that you just hang out with your friends and play random songs and have a blast. There was a time when a couple of my friends and I had a two day "jamfest" in the basement. Music brings people together no matter what you. The song could be sad, angry, happy, or just so weird you don't know what you are listening to, but it would still have people laughing and having a great time, especially when you are the ones making the music.

All I am trying to say is if you ever get the chance to learn how to play an instrument, do it, you will love it. I have been playing guitar for 6 1/2 years so far and it has gotten me through a lot of tough and good times. Like I said it's a great learning experience, an amazing stress reliever, and just fun to do. So pick up an instrument and go crazy and as Tommy Lee has said, "Let the good times roll."

Bumper Sticker

Bumper Sticker Philosophies

If I was to have a bumper sticker to describe my life and my attitude towards life I believe my bumper sticker would be, “Life’s not perfect.” I would pick this bumper sticker because it is short and simple and it doesn’t only reflect my life, but others as well. This bumper sticker shows that I have a sense of humor and understand the fact that nothing is perfect in life.

Think about a time when you were having a great day and you thought that nothing could happen and suddenly you step in a puddle or on some gum, instead of yelling on the top of lungs and making yourself look like an idiot just say, “Life’s not perfect,” and go on with the day. The world is already pretty messed up right now with all the economy problems, government issues, war, ect. All I am saying is that life is short and of course bad things are going to happen, but that’s how life is.

I believe that would be the perfect bumper sticker for me also because I don’t worry about most things in the world, I live my life and have fun. If life was perfect then everything would be dull and you would just get everything handed to you… even though that sounds pretty cool it is not. Be optomistic about things that go on in this crazy world. It may be all bad right now but it could all change soon. Like I said life is too short to worry about things, have fun and don’t forget that life isn’t perfect.

"Why I'm making this blog"

I just enrolled in Frederick Community College and I'm in EN101 right now. I'm making this account because my Professor told me to. Another reason why I have made this account is because I will being posting up a lot of my classwork on here so other people can look at it, judgeit, and give me some ideas if I should make any changes or anything else helpful. So hopefully this will turn out well and I will get some comments on my work, but just warn you it is not always going to be great.
